With the high technology exists in the market, solid color ink printer is a new fashion printer. Take use of the high technology 3D printer, there are so many 3D printer exists, such as 3D color printer, 3D camera printer, 3D photo printers and so on. Based off of Islamic tiles and one specific work by M.C. Escher, this 3D textile explores the triangle as both a module and a mode of connection. The dual-triangular module changes in orientation and in the angle of the fold in order to create variation, starting out as fairly acute before completely flattening out. They also change slightly in scale, with one set slightly larger than the same pieces flipped over.
If applied at an architectural scale, this could possibly be a roof condition, suggested by its fomal implications, or even a type of fencing - that’s if you’re feeling unconventional.
The most difficult part of the design process was getting the pieces to connect in two directions. At the start of the project, the pieces would only connect with each other in one direction, but then those rows of modules would not attach to the others. The triangle proved to be a hard shape to utilize because of its angles, which led to the slight scaling up of the pieces - often, the small angles would make the connectors intersect with the module pieces in an undesired manner.
As an aside, if we were to think about other applications of this technology, the printing of metals and plastics is being explored, which means that items such as circuit boards can be printed.
