The digital printer is really attractive to me. This is a blog about 3D technology. There are so many 3D printers which has been taken use of frequently, such as 3D color printer, 3D digital copier printer, 3D photo printer and so on. The initial study began with examining different variations of chain mail. Some were complex, while others were more simple. Some examples contained links that intersected with only one other link while other examples had multiple connections. Among these multiple variations however, there were no examples of a multi-layered system in which the chain mail began to achieve a certain amount of depth. This became my goal when I began thinking about my design.
The intentions for this design was to imitate the linking qualities of the chain mail previously studied but to also introduce a system of multiple layers and one of deformation. In order to accomplish this, three layers were created which were all linked together. One outside layer consisted of smaller circles with an approximate radius of 1.15 cm. The other outside layer consisted of circles with identical dimensions but slightly deformed. The middle layer consisted of larger links with a radius of approximately 5.25 cm which the two smaller layers are linked to.
The final model has three layers. One which is made up of a regular pattern of small circles, one which is a regular pattern of larger circles and the third a layer of deformed smaller circles.
